Privacy Policy

Effective 30 October 2026 · Last updated 30 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information Apex Media Production Inc. collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you can get it back, correct it or have it deleted. It covers information we receive through Meta’s advertising platforms — Facebook and Instagram lead forms, the Meta Pixel and the Conversions API — as well as through this website.

01Who we are

Apex Media Production Inc. (“Apex Media”, “we”, “us”) is a video production and paid social advertising company incorporated in Ontario, Canada, operating from Barrie, Ontario. We produce video content and run advertising campaigns on Meta platforms on behalf of our clients.

We are responsible for the personal information under our control. Questions about this policy or about your personal information go to the contact listed in section 12.

02The two roles we play

How we handle your information depends on how we came to have it, and the difference matters:

If you responded to an ad and are not sure which business you were dealing with, contact us and we will tell you and put you in touch with them.

03Information we collect from Meta

Most of the personal information we handle reaches us through Meta Platforms, Inc. (Facebook and Instagram). There are three distinct paths.

Instant forms (Meta Lead Ads)

If you submit an instant form attached to one of our ads on Facebook or Instagram, Meta passes the answers to us. Depending on how the form was built, that typically includes:

Some of these fields are pre-filled by Meta from your Facebook or Instagram profile. You can edit them before submitting. Submitting the form is what sends them to us; Meta does not give us this information otherwise.

Meta Pixel and Conversions API

This website and our clients’ websites may carry the Meta Pixel, and we may send equivalent events server-side through Meta’s Conversions API. These record actions such as viewing a page, starting a form or booking a call, together with technical identifiers — IP address, browser and device information, and Meta’s cookie identifiers (_fbp, _fbc).

Where contact details are included in these events, they are hashed before transmission, meaning they are converted into an irreversible string rather than sent in readable form. Meta uses them to match activity to an account and to measure and optimise ad delivery. Meta’s own handling of this data is governed by the Meta Privacy Policy, not by this one.

Audiences

We may create Custom Audiences by uploading hashed contact lists to Meta, and Lookalike Audiences derived from them, so that ads reach people likely to be interested. We do not receive Meta profile data in return, and we cannot see the individuals in a Lookalike Audience.

Controlling this on Meta’s side

You can limit how Meta uses activity shared by businesses through your Facebook or Instagram settings — look for Settings & privacy → Settings → Your activity off Meta technologies, and your Ad preferences. These are controls inside your Meta account; we cannot change them for you, and changing them does not remove information we have already received.

04Information we collect directly

06Consent

We rely on your consent to collect and use your personal information. Submitting a lead form, booking a call or emailing us is how that consent is given, and it is given for the purpose described at the time.

Where we send commercial electronic messages to Canadian recipients, we do so in accordance with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Every marketing message we send carries an unsubscribe mechanism, and we act on unsubscribe requests promptly.

You can withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer provide a service you asked for. Contact us using section 12 and we will explain what the consequences would be before acting on it.

07Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information, and we do not rent or trade mailing lists.

08Where it is stored

Our website host, Meta, and several of our service providers operate servers outside Canada, including in the United States. Personal information stored or processed in another country is subject to that country’s laws, and may be accessible to its courts and law enforcement under those laws. We use providers that offer a comparable level of protection to what is required here.

09How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for, or as long as the law requires us to keep it.

You can ask us to delete your information sooner — see section 10.

10Your rights

Under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you can:

We respond to requests within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity first, so that we do not disclose your information to someone else. There is no charge for a reasonable request.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your request, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
